What goes at on HoT WI
We are HoT WI
or in other words the Henley on Thames Women’s Institute. We
officially formed in January 2017 and meet on the third Friday of the month
in the Sacred Heart Hall, Walton Avenue off Vicarage Road, Henley at 19.30.
We are a modern, fun thinking group who span the generations with members in
their 30’s right through to their 80’s. We believe that every
member should be given the chance to input their ideas so that we can cater
to everyone’s tastes.
There are loads of great reasons to join us:

What goes
on at a meeting |
You are welcome to
attend up to two meetings as a guest. Guests are
asked to pay £5.00 at each
meeting which is deductible from the full
cost of your membership should you choose to
join on the evening.
When you arrive all members need to sign in and new members can sign up at the membership table. Christina, our treasurer, can advise you of the current pro-rata joining fee that is payable depending on when you join in the year. |
There are around 30
members of our WI and we are a friendly diverse bunch with a wide range
of ages and interests. We currently have six committee members who will
make themselves known at most meetings so feel free to chat to them if
you have any questions.
Doors open at 19.15 for a 19.30 start. We begin with any official business, announcements and news from Katie, our president, and the rest of the committee. We try to keep this as brief as possible but it is important to keep members informed and some information is better delivered in person rather than online.
Once the official bit is over we introduce our speaker or activity. At the end of the talk we then have either tea, coffee or as it’s Friday evening a glass of wine and we have a refreshment rota, so there is normally cake and or biscuits on offer too! This is a great time for us to have a chat, catch up and if there are new guests we make sure they are warmly welcomed and get to know one another. Meetings end around 22.00 once we've tided up.
